Widen the binder to see your full titles

The binder is no longer a fixed width. Drag its right-hand edge and it grows with you, up to twice its old size — so "Chapter Eleven — The Long Road Home, Part Two" reads as itself instead of trailing off into a row of dots. Your chosen width is remembered on that device, and hiding and re-showing the binder brings it back exactly as you left it.

Titles that are still too long for the space now show in full when you hover over them, however wide the binder is and however deeply the document is nested.

How to use it

Move your pointer to the right-hand edge of the binder, where it meets your writing. The cursor changes to a resize arrow and the edge highlights — click and drag sideways to set the width you want. It stops at a comfortable minimum and maximum so neither the binder nor your page is ever squeezed out.

Double-click that same edge at any time to snap the binder back to its original width.

You can also resize it without the mouse: press Tab until the edge is highlighted, then use the left and right arrow keys to nudge it, or hold Shift with them to move in bigger steps. Home and End jump straight to the narrowest and widest settings, and Enter restores the default.

Deeply nested documents indent, so a title can still run out of room even in a wide binder. Rest your pointer on any title in the tree and the full text appears.

On a phone the binder is a slide-over panel sized to your screen, so there is nothing to drag there and this change does not affect it.
