If you have turned on "Don't count pasted text as progress", your Writing Pace graph, activity heatmap and yearly word total on your profile page now leave pasted words out as well. Until now the setting only affected your session and sprint counts, so a big paste could still show up as a day of heroic output you had not actually written.
Your streak is deliberately untouched. A day you pasted still counts as a day you showed up, so turning this on will never shorten a run of writing days you have already earned. Document and project word totals still include everything, as they always have.
How to use it
Open your profile page from the account menu in the top-right corner and find "Don't count pasted text as progress". Switch it on if it is not already — the description underneath now lists everything it covers.
Paste a chunk of text into any document and let it save. Your session count in the top bar does not move, and it never did — that part has worked since the setting arrived.
Now look at the Writing Pace graph and the activity heatmap on your profile page. Today's bar and today's square reflect only what you typed; the pasted words are not in them. The words-this-year figure above them is the same.
Check your streak. It is exactly as long as it was, and today still counts toward it. Nothing you had already earned has been taken away.
