Long synopses are saved again

A synopsis longer than 500 characters was quietly not being saved. It stayed in the box while you worked, then disappeared when you switched documents. Synopses of up to 2,000 characters now save properly.

Renaming, moving, reordering, labelling or changing the status of a document could also fail without a word. Now, if a change can’t be saved, a message names the document and says so. A synopsis that couldn’t be saved stays in its box so you can try again.

How to use it

Write a synopsis above the editor, on an index card, or in the outline. It saves when you click away, up to 2,000 characters (about 300 words).

As you get close to the limit, a counter such as 1,850 / 2,000 appears under the box, and the box stops accepting text at 2,000.

If a message says a change couldn’t be saved, check your connection and make the change again. Nothing else is needed.
